Swiss Chocolate Train

Ride in a Pullman "Belle Epoque" carriage vitage 1915 or the ultramodern panorama car. Enjoy stunning views of the vineyards surrounding Montreaux and medieval Gruyeres and continue to Broc, where the chocolate factory is marvelously situated between Lake Gruyères and the Alps.  
Train departs from Montreux on the Swiss Riviera, ascends to Gruyeres, home of the famous Gruyeres cheese, continues on to Broc where the Nestle Chocolate factory is situated between Lake Gruyere and the Swiss Apls, then returns to Montreux.

Only valid with a 1st class Swiss Pass, Swiss Flexi Pass, Swiss Saver Pass, Swiss Saver Flexipass, Eurailpass and Eurail Selectpass (including Switzerland) The reservation is additional and compulsory.

The GoldenPass Line is a natural link between Central Switzerland and Lake Geneva.  From the shores of Lake Luceren (Luzern) over Brunig Pass, you will travel more than 149 miles  past weathered timber houses and flower decorated windows, plus many high lights of Switzerland before arriving in Montreux.  (This route takes 2 tickets)

Travel from the crisp snow down of St. Moritz to the palms and oleander of Lugano in Northern Italy on the Rhaetian Railway's north-south Alpine crossing.

This 2 1/2 hour trip from St. Moritz offers breathtaking views as you travel over boldly curved viaducts, landscape of glaciers and stone fields to Tirano in Italy, where a bus to Lugano is available.  Along this route you pass wild gorges, soaring bridges, fascinating loop tunnels and white ice-age glaciers which are close enough to reach out and touch!

The Bernina Express runs daily in the summer. In the winter only the train to and from Tirano is operated. It offers first and second class service as well as panoramic coaches.

Swiss Post Bus and Swiss Post Bus directed me to www.Rail.ch. I sent Rail.ch an email two days ago, but haven't heard back yet. The bus number shown at www.Rail.ch (SBB) is 5500, and it shows "seat reservations compulsory.

William Tell Express

Travel The William Tell Express links German-speaking Central Switzerland with Italian-speaking Ticino.  The Tour starts from Lucerne (Luzern) , where you board a nostalgic paddle steamer for a 3 hour cruise on Lake Lucerne and enjoy a gourmet meal in the first class restaurant. At Fluelen, passengers board an air-conditioned panoramic train to travel through the steep rvines and precipitous cliffs of the Reuss Vally, passing the 15 km long historic Gothard railway tunnel, Europe's most important north/south gateway. On the south side, many breath-taking bridges are crossed, passing by charming villages down the valley towards Lugano (Locarno)

The William Tell offers the trip on a paddle-steamer in first class, a Swiss lunch, and the train journey in first or second class air-conditioned coaches. Reservations are compulsory and include seats on the boat and train, the Swiss lunch as well as a detailed journey documentation and the "William Tell Souvenir" The William Tell Express operates only from May to October from Lucerne to Lucrno (Lugano)
