Rail-Drive
passes -
available in
Eurail, Euro, &
Country versions. They are a good
value if you want to split your car travel up into a day or two here and
another there! Train days are best spent on long hauls going from big city
to big city. Car days are most enjoyable when exploring the countryside.
Many clients find the new Select Pass
'n Drive an economical way of taking care of Scandinavia as well as
Spain/Portual driving /rail needs.
Should you need 3 or more car days in a row, TERC recommends buying
a rail pass and a separate car rental to save more $. The cheapest car rental
is under $100 for 3 days of rental in Germany. See Car Rental for other
countries and their various prices. See:

Country Rail Passes
|
|
Country Railpasses come in 1st and
2ed class for any age and some countries have rail drive pass combinations.
"Saverpass" versions are available in many for
additional savings. They provide good savings when focusing on 1 specific
country. In combination with Euro or Eurail passes and point to point tickets
for short rail days, you can add even more $$ savings.

Rail Europe's Pass Protection Plan.
It will reimburse you for the unused value
of your pass should it be stolen or lost during your travels.
Just purchase our plan for only $10.00 -17.00 per/pass (or
set) U.SD. at the same time as you buy your pass. Pass Protection
applies only to Railpasses and reimbursements don't occur until you return
home. This means you are responsible for purchase of your transportation
for the balance of your trip. We recommend switching to 2nd class pt
to pt tickets or contact TERC for a new pass &/or advice.
Pass Protection Claims
To make a claim you must 1.
get a police report re theft/loss which must be filed with your claim,
2. file claim with RailEurope upon your return home. TERC IS GOOD AT
FACILITATING THIS PROCESS. To reach TERC call 808 395-2083
or toll free 877

All of these can be made in Europe at any train station for
