Paris Friday Night:
We stayed in the Louvre Loft #38.  It was very nice, great location.  It made you feel like you lived there.  We were there during the summer solstice.  We were coming back to the apartment, had taken the Bateaux Mouches that day and on the way back we noticed people setting up little picnics along the Seine.  Then as we were walking to our apartment we saw all of these street bands here and there along the way.  We came down the street where our apartment was and had to get through the crowd that was gathered in front listening to a mid-eastern sounding band.  So we quickly got up to our apartment and decided that since the music is so loud and right below our window we better change clothes and go back out.  The kids were all for it, I think they thought it was pretty cool.  So we went back out there and walked up and down the street to find all sorts of other bands playing.  It happened to be a Friday evening.  We stopped at an outdoor cafe for dinner and were just amazed how lively everything was.  This was our first summer trip to Paris so we just figured that these people really know how to partAY and let loose on a Friday night.  We happened to mention something to our server and she told us that this was the summer solstice celebration and this sort of thing does not happen every Friday evening.  Had she not told us that we would have returned home thinking that the French really know how to have a good time on a Friday night! Karen of LA Ca  24 April 05
London Theatre
Loved the production of "Julius Caesar" at the Globe. I had purchased the tickets ahead of time off the web and they were there waiting for us as promised (What did you pay?--It is possible to coll Theatre box offices directly from here and get the local London price when you pick them up at the box office.--mele) .  Marlee  14 June 99

London Theatre Dressing:  I thought. I was surprised to see people dress all kinds of ways to the theater—so no need to bring really nice clothes.   Larraine Sinclair

  Shopping - Markets

London Shopping:  On Sunday we went to the Spittelfield Market, because regular stores were closed, and found some wonderful bargains. It's sort of a flea market, with antique/used stuff.   Larraine Sinclair
